Nasri admits he could still leave Man City despite recall

Samir Nasri admits he could still leave Manchester City before the end of the transfer window, despite earning a recall to Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Besiktas have been linked with a move for Nasri, who came off the bench to make his first appearance of the season against West Ham on Sunday.

However, the 29-year-old told French TV channel SFR Sport that his future at the Etihad Stadium remains in doubt.

“Yes, there could still be movement,” Nasri said. “It depends on a lot of things in fact.

“There’s been a lot of speculation. Things that are true. Things that are false too because they’ve never shown me the door or anything like that.

“But I said ‘everything depends on what’s up there [in your head] and your desire’. So we’ll see. We’re going to sit down, discuss it and see what’s to be done.”

France international Nasri was reportedly made to train on his own after returning for pre-season overweight.

The midfielder admits he could have returned fitter but insists his relationship with City boss Pep Guardiola has improved.

“I was a little out of shape and then I worked a lot,” he added.

“I let people talk. I simply concentrated on what I know what to do best and that’s on the pitch.

“For a few weeks now, things have been going really well with the coach. He decided to call on me today and I tried to show him on the pitch.”
