Nigeria international Alex Iwobi is delighted to be named man of the match in Arsenal’s 3-0 win against London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 20-year-old was in fantastic form against the Blues and played a part in the Gunners second goal which was scored by Theo Walcott.
The young winger was replaced by Kieran Gibbs in the 69th minute of the encounter to huge applause from the club fans.
He took to Twitter to express his delight after the clash.
“Delighted to be named man of the match in such a game, however there could have been other man of the match as well. Great team performance. #AFC# BIG 17# 3 POINTS,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle.

The Super Eagles star has also attributed Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Chelsea at the Emirates on Saturday to their mental strength.

The Gunners blew away their London rivals with three first half goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil.

It was their first win against the Blues since 2011.

Reacting to the win, Iwobi who bagged the Man-of-the-Match award told arsenal.com that as long as Arsenal stay mentally strong, the results will keep coming.

“We’ve started the season very well, we were mentally up for the game and that’s the main thing. As long as we’re mentally strong we will do well.

“We played well, especially in training we’re working together very well. We’re training very well and we’re just putting a lot of training into matches, which was on show Saturday.”
