With much to play for on Sunday, Niger Tornadoes FC will hope to put away their midweek 0-2 lost to Heartland FC in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
Niger Tornadoes will be aiming to maintained it NPFL status with a win against Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM) in match day 37 clash at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium. The Ikon Allah boys led by Abubakar Bala will go into today’s game with a mind set of knowing an outright victory over the Olukoya Boys will seal it NPFL status.
MFM still battling to avoid the drop will see this game as one they can nick and get the three maximum points but the Minna- based side are yet to loss a game at their adopted home ground Lokoja. The revers fixtures which was played at the Agege Stadium on May 15 ended 2-0 in favour of the Olukoya boys.
Niger Tornadoes will be without key man in the wings, Kunle Issa and Mustapha Musa who is out due to private issues but Coach Abubakar Bala will be banking on Adebayo Abiodun and Chinedu Nwanze on the defence line with birthday boy Bolaji Adeyemo covering from the middle of the park.
While Solomon Owello, Lukman Mohammed, and Tasiu Lawal are expected to cause havoc up front, on the part of MFM FC, talisman, Musa Newman will not be part of match day proceedings due to a knock he got during the week. Niger Tornadoes are 13th on the log with 45 points from 34 games played while MFM FC are 16th with 42 points from same number of games.
“It like a final game for us,” Niger Tornadoes assistant captain Bolaji Adeyemo to NIGER TORNADOES MEDIA. “We must believe in ourselves. MFM are no small team but am sure we will secure the necessary points at the end of 90 minutes. “
We are well prepared and the spirit in our camp is high. We will put smile on the faces of our fans because this is our last home game of the season,” he said to NIGER TORNADOES MEDIA.
