Rangers International football club of Enugu hopes to regain the leadership of the league summit on Sunday 18th September 2016, with an emphatic victory on Sunday, when they host sunshine football club of Akure, at their cathedral, Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu by 4pm.
According to Rangers FC Media, the match Day 36 encounters, against sunshine is seen by fans and supporters of Rangers as a must win the game to help boost the chances of the club in winning the league trophy after so many years.
Rangers team captain Okey Odita , Etim Mathew, Chibuzor Madu and Christian Madu said Sunday’s match is a must win the game and the players will not compromise on the maximum, three points and three goals at stake.
They maintained that Victory against Sunshine FC is not negotiable as the win will help boost their leadership of the Zenith as well as inch towards securing the league shield.
The players insist that winning this season’s league trophy is a must inorder to show appreciation to the sports loving Governor of Enugu state, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who has spared nothing in ensuring the players are well taking care of, as well as motivating the team financially since assumption of office.
Recently, Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has provided financial motivation as well as moral and physical support to the team, even being present in their home matches, that has been instrumental to their home victories.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has also directed that the gates of the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu be thrown open(free), on Sunday, by 4pm to allow numerous fans and supporters of Rangers from within and outside Enugu to come out en-mass and cheer the team to victory against sunshine stars FC of Akure.
Rangers is currently placed second on the log with 54 points from 33 matches, two points behind leaders, Rivers United and a point ahead of third placed, Ifeanyi Uba FC.
The match day 36, of the NPFL between hosts, Rangers Int’l FC Enugu and sunshine stars FC Akure, holds on Sunday, 18th September, 2016 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe sadium Enugu by 4pm.
