Zambia's interim coach, Wedson Nyirenda, has reiterated that qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia is a must for Chipolopolo.
Zambia will have to finish ahead of experienced World Cup campaigners Cameroon, Nigeria and Algeria in their qualifying group to realise their dream of being at the World Cup for the first time.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's clash against the Super Eagles, Nyirenda said despite the fact that the Zambian team is going through a rebuilding process would not derail their ambition of picking the sole ticket in Group B.
“We just have to qualify," Nyirenda told Zambia Post.
"I have always said even if we are building the team, we have to qualify to the World Cup for the first time."
Nyirenda went on to express delight following the arrival of foreign-based players for this weekend's clash, stating that it has uplifted team spirit in camp.
"The arrival of professionals has boosted morale in the team, we are looking good with the brotherliness I am seeing in the team."
