The Daily Mail have predicted that Jesse Lingard will make his England debut ahead of Marcus Rashford on Saturday against Malta.
They have included Lingard in a ‘likely line-up’ on the left side of the attack, where he had 45 miserable minutes against Manchester City last month.
We wanted to see a fluid front three of Daniel Sturridge, Theo Walcott and Marcus Rashford but it looks like Gareth Southgate could opt for the safe option of the hard-working Lingard.
What is most bizarre is that the Mail predict this line-up but pretend that the inclusion of Walcott is the story.

Lingard himself might be surprised as he has spent this week talking about Rashford, who has been playing on the left of Manchester United’s attack.
“I think scoring would be massive for him,” Lingard told reporters.
“His confidence is already high anyway but if he scored on Saturday that would make him more confident. First and foremost, we’ve got to win the game. His confidence is getting better all the time.
“He scores in most of the games he plays in, or he’s had a hand in the goals. So he’s contributing well for the club and hopefully he can carry that on.”
