NPFL: SUNSHINE STARS GO ON BREAK..

Following the conclusion of the 2015 / 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League, players and officials of Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have been given a – two week break by the club management.

Addressing the team in Akure, President of the club, Prince John Ola Mafo who thanked God for the achievement recorded in the just ended season expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Technical Crew led by Coach Solomon Ogbeide.

” We have every course to thank God, Governor Olusegun Mimiko who is our number one supporter and all soccer loving people of the state. Even though we were so close to achieving our aims, the season was not a failure”.

“Lots of lessons were learnt and we hope to build on all the positives ahead of the new season. The Technical Crew did well and we are determined to keep our top players”.

Prince Mafo who is also the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, ODSFA, said all hands are on deck to take football development to the next level in the state.

In separate speeches, Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Solomon Ogbeide and Head Coach, Kayode Olujohungbe, while appreciating the club management for its support, thanked the players for their efforts and commitments.

Sunshine Stars placed 6th on the table with 53 points, 4 points behind 3rd placed Wikki Tourists at the end of the 2015 / 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League Season.
