Zambian Star: Nothing Special About Super Eagles

Former Zambia midfielder, Gift Kampamba, dismissed the Super Eagles' chances as they get set to face Chipolopolo in Sunday's 2018 World Cup qualifier in Ndola.

Although the last time Zambia beat the Super Eagles was a 2-0 win in an international friendly in 1997, Kampamba is confident his country can do it again.

“Nigeria is just a team like any other, the players are just players like any other," Kampamba, 37, told the Zambia Post.

"We can beat them, all that the players need is to work as a team."

Kampamba, who played for Zambia between 2000 and 2005 and is still playing with Green Buffaloes, went on to urge Chipolopolo players to give their best for the national team irrespective of who is head coach.

He added: “Players must play for the nation. It does not matter who is coaching the national team, whether you like the coach or not. What matters is the nation."
