ABSFC reacts to NFF disciplinary committee Decision

The management of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, will meet tonight to review the verdict of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Organising and Disciplinary Committee and decide on the next line of action.

The management said it has reliably being informed that the O&D only met in Abuja but decision was taken at the government house in Abeokuta.

The management described the decision as unfortunate, callous, irresponsible, highest level of injustice, rape on football rules and setting a bad precedent.

It wondered how the committee arrived at its decision when nobody was molested, assaulted, intimidated before, during and after the match‎.

The management reminded that Gateway FC protest was on no security but the match commissioner confirmed enough security, even match officials who never officiated were changed.

It noted that the rule says on no account must a club refuse to play ‎a match on grounds of insecurity when the match commissioner has certified the match to start, that any club that violate it losses 3 points and 3 goals.

The management recalled that Gateway FC performed the pre-match formalities, warmed up, did checking and and filed out but refused to play.

The Ilorin based team added it was shocking to know that Ogun Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Afolabi Afuape who ordered the players not to play was only reprimanded and asked what type of example is the Commissioner setting for the youths.
