Fc Ifeanyi Ubah will be aiming to clinch its 1st ever continental ticket when it takes on MFM FC at the Agege Stadium, Lagos in the final round of fixtures in the 2015/16 season of the NPFL.
The Anambra Warriors who earlier this week qualified for their 1st ever Cup final after defeating Crown FC 2-1, will be out to win its third away match of season but will face a stiff opposition in the name of MFM who on their part need a win to stand a chance of avoiding relegation.
Chairman of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Chuma Ubah believes that the Anambra Warriors have what it takes to get the business down on Sunday.
‘Psycologically, and mentally we are prepared for this game, our boys are know what is at stake and how close we are to archieving our season goals, am confident that we will get the win.’
The chairman went on to highlight the importance of getting a continental ticket this season and what it meant for the team.
‘Getting a continental ticket this season will be great for us as a club and also for our proprietor Dr Ifeanyi Ubah because he is a man of excellence and one who loves good results. We have worked hard together as a team all season long and getting this result will encourage him to invest more into the team.’
Technical adviser of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Mitko Dobrev has urged his players to go all out on Sunday when they face MFM FC in the NPFL match day 38 fixture at Agege, Lagos.
Dobrev who was speaking from the team’s camp in Lagos also said that getting a continental ticket for next season will be a perfect gift for the club proprietor and president, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
‘Get a continental ticket will be a very big thing for our club. As you know our project is just two years old so if we are able to get the ticket it will be a very big present to our President, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who has invested heavily in this club and also been there for us.’
When asked about the readiness of the team for Sunday’s big match against MFM, Dobrev was optimistic of the team’s ability to deliver on Sunday.
‘It’s been an intense one month for us, we have played a lot of matches and also travelled some long distances with the last being the Fed Cup semifinals in Kaduna. However, we are fully focused and motivated for Sunday’s match and we will do our very best. MFM are a very good side but am sure that if we play to our strength, we will get a win. It is going to be a tough game but I am confident we will get the victory.’
