The Football Association has come down hard on England players by banning them from nights out whilst on international duty, according to reports.
Wayne Rooney was pictured in The Sun looking worse for wear after reportedly drinking at a private party at the team hotel following England’s victory over Scotland, while other players were out in London.
And now The Daily Mirror claims that the FA are beginning a major clampdown to ensure their is no repeat behaviour by banning time off during future international breaks.
Ahead of the Three Lions’ preparations for Spain, the England squad were given free time from noon on Saturday until 11am on Sunday.
Although some players were sensible and used it as time to go back home and see family, others went out into London and the FA are understood to be now planning a review.

The report continues by suggesting that players will now only be allowed time off until 5pm in the evening on future international breaks, a booze ban will be in place and they won’t be allowed out in the evening.
On Wednesday, an FA statement read: “All England personnel have a responsibility to behave appropriately at all times. We will be reviewing our policy around free time whilst on international duty.”
A statement was also issued on Rooney’s behalf apologising for his behaviour on Saturday night.
“Naturally Wayne is sorry that pictures taken with fans have been published today,” it said. “Although it was a day off for the whole squad and staff, he fully recognises that the images are inappropriate for someone in his position.
“Earlier today, Wayne spoke privately to both Gareth Southgate and Dan Ashworth to unreservedly apologise.
“He would like to further extend that apology to any young fans who have seen these pictures.”
