Aitor Karanka unrepentant about criticism of Middlesbrough supporters

• Manager hit out at ‘awful’ atmosphere during 3-1 home defeat to West Ham
• ‘I won’t ever regret something I have said to defend the players’ says Karanka

Aitor Karanka remains unrepentant about his criticism of Middlesbrough supporters following the team’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham United at the Riverside Stadium last Saturday.

The Middlesbrough manager described the atmosphere as “awful” and criticised both those in the near 31,000 crowd who urged his side to “attack, attack, attack,” in the closing minutes and others who departed early.
