Ajoku’s strike force Rangers to a draw

Niger Tornadoes Chidebere Ajoku’s 45-minute strike denied the league defending champions Rangers International their second home win after the Flying Antelopes Godwin Aguda’s 40th-minute goal to secure the Ikon Allah boys first point on the road.

The Cathedral was light up with an end to end action.

Rangers started the game with the fast attacking style of football as they went for early killer goal, but Tornadoes goalkeeper Mustapha Aliko who is in superb form of life denied the Flying Antelopes to convert the chances that came their way.

As the game progressed, Niger Tornadoes quickly got themselves back into the game, and their incursion into the vital areas was menacing.

The interchange passes between ChidebereAjoku, Christian Attah and Ebenezer Odeyemi were a handful and causing a lot of problems to Rangers defenders.

RANTOR

Mustapha Aliko in the 40th minute was unable to hold onto Bobby Clement’s free kick and the onrushing Aguda scored for the Flying Antelopes from the rebound.

The celebration of the home supporters was cut short as Christian Attah and ChidebereAjoku broke away from the centre circle, with just three passes the dismantled three Rangers defenders and Ajuku tipped the ball over Rangers Ghanaian International goalkeeper, Nana Bonsu to level score line.

Niger Tornadoes resume the second with more fireworks, what Coach AbubakarBala must have told his boys’ actually yielded positive result as the much youthful Tornadoes side gave a good account of themselves.

However, the last stage of the game proved to be interesting as it was an end to end attacking and Tornadoes defence line had to remain solid to deny Rangers maximum points.
