Despite a heart-breaking loss at El Kanemi in midweek, defender Timothy Danladi has maintained Katsina United will come out all guns blazing when they host Akwa United on Sunday.
Katsina United are ninth on the NPFL table with six points after four matches, while Akwa United are bottom of the standings on two points.
‘The Changi Boys’ were only minutes away from ending El Kanemi’s 14-match winning run at home on Wednesday before they fell to a late winner by substitute Anthony Sunday.
“We were very close to at least getting a draw against El Kanemi, who had virtually given up they will win. But all the same, we were very proud of what we showed in Maiduguri,” said 20-year-old central defender Danladi.
“The team spirit is still very high and that’s what we will carry to the game against Akwa United on Sunday.”
Akwa United are under pressure to record their first win of the new season and will, therefore, be expected to throw everything at hosts Katsina on Sunday inside the giant Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
“Akwa United will come all out, but we will come out even more,” vowed ex-FC Taraba ace Danladi, who has shone in all four matches Katsina have played thus far.
