Osun United Football Club and Bendel Insurance Football Club, on Wednesday evening will clash in one of the Week Two fixture of the 2017 Nigeria National League at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
The meeting of these two clubs will be a battle that promises lots of fireworks as Osun United will hope to give themselves a huge lift by winning their first game at home.
Osun United players are brimming with confidence couple with the team wealth of experience as they slug it out to pick maximum points in front of their home fans in a game that promises to be emotional, passionate, well-fought and exciting.
Records favour the Omoluabi Giants to beat Insurance having won all their previous home games against the Benin Arsenal, but they must work hard to stop the deadly Bendel Insurance attack.
The combinations between Tosin Omoyele, Victor Okeji and Adeyemi Adeyeye, quarterbacked by the team captain and diminutive midfielder Hakeem Olalere, will have given Insurance gaffer, Roland Ewere more food for thought.
But in Bendel Insurance, Osun United know they will meet an exceptionally gifted side that can cause problems for any football club in the NNL.
Osun United gaffer Duke Udi, described the match as a strong tie for his team and he is optimistic of the maximum points.
Udi warned his players not to expect an easy ride in the game, declaring that the Benin darling team are tough, more physical and will struggle for every ball come Wednesday.
“We will do our best and every player selected to play on Wednesday will fight to do the fans proud. I trust all my players and I know they will not let me or the club down against Insurance.
“It is a big game. Bendel Insurance are a very strong team and we have to work extra hard to pick up the three points against them.
“We’ll pick a team we believe is good enough to win the game. We’ve got a really good squad and we’ve got huge faith in them to get the result,” Udi said.
