Chelsea fear they could be without their captain, Gary Cahill, in Saturday’s eagerly anticipated FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham, with the England defender struggling to recover from an illness which has affected him all week and saw him hospitalised for two days.
The 31-year-old was in hospital on Tuesday and Wednesday having potentially been a victim of a bug which the Premier League leaders fear may have spread at a team bonding meal. He was discharged on Thursday and now appears unlikely to feature at Wembley at the weekend.
