Super Eagles Watch: Nigerian players get ready for Cameroon

With the World Cup Qualifiers upon us, the Nigerian players invited for the big game against Cameron are gearing up to do their country proud.

With less than a week to the first leg of the double header, this is how some of the players performed across the worldd.

Turkey

Nigerian center back William Troost-Ekong was on for the entire game as Besiktas beat his side Bursaspor by 2 - 1.

Meanwhile teammate and Super Eagles invitee Mikel Agu was also on for the entire game, he picked up a yellow card in the 68th minute for his troubles. The defeat leaves them 13th on the log with 3 points from 3 matches.

Elderson Echiejile got some defensive lessons as Galatasaray thrashed his team Sivasspor by 3 goals to nothing.

Azubuike Okechukwu played for 90 minutes in Malatyaspor’s 1-1 draw at home to Antalyaspor.

Ogenyi Onazi watched from the substitutes bench in Trabzonspor’s 3-2 loss away to Goztepe

England

Eagles forward Victor Moses made his first home appearance for Chelsea this season in their 2-0 win against Everton at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League.

Moses had a good shot at Everton’s goal on 61 minutes but his shot was well saved by Pickford. In the 89th minute he was taken off.

Isaac Success was an unused substitute in Watford’s 0-0 Premier League draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made his 3rdPremier League start of the season for Leicester City who lost 2-0 to Manchester United.

Championship

Some Aluko was not in the Fulham squad that defeated Ipswich Town 2-0. His compatriot Sheyi Ojo played for 90 minutes.

Also in the championship, fullback Ola Aina was on for the entire game as Hull City ran out 4 nil winners over Bolton Wanderers.

Spain

Kayode Olarenwaju came off the substitute’s bench with nine minutes to play in Girona’s 1-0 win over Malaga. It was his second substitute appearance in the Spanish LaLiga.

Germany

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was an unused substitute in Mainz 05’s 1-0 loss to VfB Stuttgart. Balogun is yet to feature this season.

Netherlands

New Nigeria defender Tyrone Ebuehi made his third start in the Eredivisie for ADO Den Haag who lost 2-1 SC Heerenveen.

Belgium

Nigerian striker Peter Olayinka scored his second goal of the season for Zulte-Waregem who lost 3-2 away to Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian top flight.

Moses Simon and Henry Onyekuru both played all through 90 minutes for Gent and Anderlecht respectively as both sides played out a barren draw.

Super Eagles invitee Uche Agbo played for 90 minutes but ended up on the losing side as Standard Liege were walloped 4-0 by Club Brugge.

Portugal

Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo earned himself a first yellow card of the season in action for Feirense who defeated Chaves 2-0 in a top division league match. Dele Alampasu was an unused substitute in the encounter.

ITALY

Nigeria midfielder Joel Obi opened his Serie A goals account this season as Torino defeated visiting Sassuolo 3-0.


Obi’s Nigerian teammate, Umar Sadiq, was an unused substitute. Sadiq is yet to feature in the league this season.
