Ebonyi FA Cup Update: A good win for cynosure fc

Cynosure Fc of Ishiagu began 2017 Ebonyi State FA Cup with victory, as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win over hard fighting Jman Fc in a keenly contested match played at the football pitch of Presco secondary school Abakaliki.

The Ishiagu based team were without star player Chikere due to an injury he sustained early in the game, but took a first-half lead thanks to a magnificent free kick finished by Okechukwu Nze after a moment of majestic improvisation which led to Ogar Junior being fouled.

The centre of attraction lads couldn’t find a second before the break, despite dominating, with the goalkeeper of Jman equal to efforts from Ogar Junior, Henry George and Okechukwu Nze.

However, the Ishiagu youngsters wouldn’t be denied midway into the second half, after Opeke Eden slid in to win back possession in his own half, Ogar David rolled into Timothy English who backheeled deliciously to Azuka Francis.

His pass found Emmanuel Monday Abuma-King on the left, before the midfield maestro’s cross was met by the heel of the flying Emmanuel Edoka, his effort beating Jman’s goalkeeper and flying in off the underside of the bar doubling the advantage.

The best goal award for 2017’s Ebonyi FA Cup best goal may be in the bag already.

That seemingly spurred players of Jman Fc into life, with the coaches decision to  throw more men forwards and have a go at their opponent, seeing Cynosure’s goalkeeper Believe Imiete called upon to make a number of saves just after the hour mark.

This victory see Cynosure Fc of Ishiagu qualify for the semifinal of the 2017 Ebonyi State FA Cup and will confront Ebonyi United on April 29th,2017
