Big striker Chinedu Udechukwu struck twice for Katsina United to beat Rivers United 2-0 in a rescheduled game played behind closed doors inside the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina today.
The former Mighty Jets striker has now scored a total of five goals this season and ‘The Changi Boys’ have shot up to 10th on the table with 25 points from 19 matches.
‘Man Mountain’ got Katsina United off to a flying start after just eight minutes, before he made the game safe for the home team after 62 minutes, when he headed home Eric Gwammy’s cross.
Udechukwu was denied a goal by the post after just two minutes as Katsina United swarmed on their visitors.
Katsina United enjoyed more of the ball especially in the first half, while Bernard Ovoke was denied a consolation goal for poor travelers Rivers United by the woodwork 10 minutes from time.
