Lobi Stars set to unleash deadliest squad against Masu Gida

Lobi Stars Football Club will be hoping to bank on its fine form and unbeaten run of three matches this weekend at the Sani Abacha Stadium, as they lock horns against former Nigeria Professional Football League champions Kano Pillars.

The Solomon Ogbeide side will face a tougher side on Sunday, but they have all what it takes to snatch a point out of the Sai Masu Guda side.

Lobi Stars possesses one of the Nigeria Professional Football League deadliest attackers since the resumption of the league, the duo of Anthony “The Panther” Okpotu and Kingsley Eduwo, Cletus Itodo have been a threat to most Nigeria Professional Football League clubs defenders

Anthony Okpotu

Anthony “The Panther Okpotu has enjoyed regular playing time this season than last season. An attacking minded player, he has the ability to switch from wings in the attack making defenders to be on their toes.

A positional striker and box six player, who can aim from any angle when it comes to goal scoring, last season he was the club’s highest goalscorer with eight goals, having formed a good strike partnership with Kingsley Eduwo.

 

 Kingsley Eduwo (Perfect Executioner)

The sudden performance of the lad in the Pride of Benue colors has been a surprise to many Nigeria Professional Football League followers.

He was part of the deadly squad that caused havoc on Sunshine Stars and Shooting Stars on Matchday 20 and 21 respectively.

The forward disclosed to Felele247.com earlier this season that he hopes to score double digit goals this season for the pride of Benue

“I’ve scored five goals so far, I am hoping to score more goals but I’ve created a lot of assists which has helped my team,”

“I’m hoping to get more goals in the second half of the season.”

“We are not in a good position right now, we want to be at the top because that’s where we belong.

Cletus Itodo The Midfield maestro

This old midfield maestro has been an integral part of the team this season, with his superlative display on the pitch, little wonder they call him the veteran in the Nigeria Professional Football League, he has played for so many premier league club side.

A prolific midfielder who can dictate any match at any given time, vast and experience on the pitch.

The old warhorse, joined the pride of Benue last season, which of course has made him one of the much-travelled midfielder, having worn the colours of six clubs including reigning champions, Enyimba International and Sunshine Stars, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and Abia Warriors.

 

Okemute Odah (Flexible and perfect timing)

 

Okemute Odah has put up a great display of athlectism in between the sticks since returning back to Lobi Stars FC before the 2016/17 season kick off.

Since the 2nd stanza kicked off, he has kept two clean sheets.

The former Sharks FC could extend his clean sheet record to three if he fails to ship in a goal against Pillars on Sunday.
