Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still considering offloading Son Heung-Min this summer, with Wolfsburg being offered his services.
The 24-year-old arrived in a £22m deal from Bayer Leverkusen last August, as reported by The Daily Mail, and went on to make 40 appearances in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
However, after a return of just eight goals and five assists, according to Bild he may well be set to secure a return to the Bundesliga after just one year.
Wolfsburg have reportedly lodged a £25.6m bid for the winger, although it’s added that Everton and Leicester City are both monitoring his situation too.
It was a relatively decent record for the South Korean international given it was his first season in the Premier League, but ultimately competition for places at White Hart Lane has left him further down the pecking order.
A chance to recoup their initial outlay could be tempting for Spurs, with Pochettino likely to want to bolster his squad further and in turn could use the money to fund his own moves.
However, with the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, it doesn’t leave much time for deals to be done and so should Spurs decide to sell Son, they will want to have a replacement lined up ready to join the club in order to avoid leaving themselves short of options.
With the addition of the Champions League to their fixture list this year, Spurs need quality and depth to compete on various fronts.
Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen have already arrived in north London this summer, but perhaps more is needed in the coming days.
