Arsenal defender Bellerin out for four weeks

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin will be out for four weeks.

The Gunners defender withdrew from the Spain under-21 side this international break and has now been assessed by the Arsenal medical team.

Bellerin originally thought the injury was minor so he travelled with the Spain youngsters, only later to discover he was unable to take part in full training with the rest of the squad.

The injury was picked up in the closing moments of Arsenal’s north London derby draw with Tottenham after he suffered a knock on the ankle from Spurs’ Danny Rose.

And at Thursday’s press conference, Wenger ruled the 21-year-old out for a month.

“Hector is out for about four weeks,” he says. “He was injured in the last 10 seconds against Spurs.”

Arsenal play Manchester United in the early kick-off on Saturday at Old Trafford.
